Mission Trails Regional Park Founation to receive award

THANK YOU from the Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation and Park Staff to all of you who voted for us to win the 2011 SDG&E ECO Ambassadors People’s Choice Award. Although, after a very close race, we did not win the top prize of $25,000, we did come in second and will receive a $10,000 grant. The funds will be used to expand our educational outreach program under the direction of Alicia Berg, one of our Education Program Instructors. This $10,000 award, coupled with another $25,000 grant we recently received in partnership with the San Diego County YMCA from SDG&E through their 2011 Environmental Champions Awards, will positively impact over 1,000 children and many of their parents.

Mission Trails 15,877 (yes 2nd place by just 8 votes after 3 weeks)
